How Nordens ark work

Nordens ark has a specific part called Lunden, this part is a private separated part the park. In this area there is quarantine for Predators and Birds. They have also an isolation part for the Ungulates and Fissiped’s. Mostly of the work with breeding take place here in Lunden. Nordens ark is open for visitors everyday from ten o’clock all year round and its about 100 000 visitors every year.

They also help to provide a good and healthy environment for the species so they have the opportunity to expand to big enough population to survive. There are three categories when it comes to the breeding and rearing work at the park.

  1. Engendered old Nordic Breeds.
  2. Engendered Nordic wild Mammals, Birds, Amphibians, Reptiles and Insects.
  3. Engendered exotic wild Mammals, Birds, Amphibians, Reptiles and Insects that come from an environment similar to the Nordic. There are though exceptions when it comes to Amphibians and Reptiles.

Engendered wild mammals at Nordens ark

The engendered wild animals from the northern hemisphere temperature clime zones spend their whole year outside in very big protection areas. This is because of the animal’s health and they have to have the best opportunities they can in captivity. In this areas they also tries to make it look like the animals own natural environment just to make the animals feel safe, happy and stay in good shape. It can sometimes be hard and difficult for the visitors to se this animals, partly because the areas where this animals are in is very big and it also depends on the weather. For example some animals like lying on the rocks or mountain parts when its sunny and warm weather, while some goes in to the forest to cool down. Some animals like the rain some of the seek protection under the threes a rainy day.
